Why is there a need for a Southern Section Coaches Association?
The desire to form a section wide coaches’ association came out of a number of coaches voicing a variety of concerns about the 2015 CIF SS Prelims. While the prelims were the immediate catalyst to organize, the need for a coaches association goes much deeper than the CIF Prelims. Possible reasons for creating an active coaching association are:
1. To unify coaches throughout the Southern Section.
2. To have a sounding board for concerns and questions of the coaches in the section.
3. To allow the coaches the opportunity to have a common voice.
4. To give all the coaches in the section an opportunity for representation in the decision making process.
5. To help improve the sport for the student-athletes in the section.
6. To help promote the sport section wide.
7. To enhance communication and interaction among Southern Section coaches
